WWI BUFFALO SOLDIERS COMMEMORATION

The Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Association in San Antonio is collaborating with the Bowtie Boys  Mentoring Program of Garland, Texas and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in Fort Worth, Texas to produce the Hung Before Dawn Centennial Commemoration project highlighting the historic court martial and hanging of 19 Buffalo Soldiers of the 24th US Infantry Regiment at Camp Travis at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas in 1917-1918.
The members of the BC Buffalo Soldiers will set up an exhibition for the two day and we would like to coordinate bus tours of the five historical sites, including; 1. the Barracks, 2. the Chapel of the Court Martial, 3. Hangman’s Grove, 4. the Original Burial Site and their 5. final resting site in Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
The public will be able to view these exhibits at the following times:
May 5:  0800 -1800
May 6: 1300-2100
