LECTURE: Regional Culture During WWI

During WWI, Americans spent their leisure time seeing movies, going to vaudeville shows, dancing to popular music in dance halls and reading books. Ms. Spalding focuses on Americans’ consumption of popular culture during the war years and provides examples of regional cultural themes.

The lecture series is part of the From Cowboy to Doughboy, North Texas in WWI: Mobilization for The Great War exhibit located at the Fort Worth Central Library. The exhibit is on display throughout the Central Library from Jul. 9 – Oct. 19, 2017. More information on the exhibit is available here.
